Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a brand new florist celebrated its first day of business today in Bayonne.
Broadway Blooms, 718 Broadway, officially opened its doors for business, offering a variety of teddy bears, balloons and of course, fresh flowers.
They also specialize in funeral pieces and wedding arrangements.
Bayonne resident Miltiadis Tzoumas, 30, opened the corner shop, and his wife, Annette, 28, an employee, was behind the counter this afternoon.
“I went to school for flower design and I always wanted my own business,” she said.
The store’s front window display is stocked with fresh roses, hearts and teddy bears, in preparation for the upcoming holiday dedicated to lovers.
As for how she feels about gearing up for arguably the busiest day of the year for florists, Annette said with a smile, “A little nerve-wracking, but It’s exciting.”</……………. continues on NJ.com
